Product FAQ: HPI Blitz Shock Building

Tips on building our Aluminum threaded shocks for the HPI Blitz.
Note: The aluminum shock collars (right) replaces both stock plastic collar and retainer (middle and left).

Note: Unscrew the shock bottom cap to install the double O-rings from your plastic shocks. Add a small drop of silicone shock oil on the threads of the aluminum shock body then screw on the collar. The oil will prevent the O-ring inside the collar from ripping upon threading.
Note: Use Associated green slime on the O-ring liberally before installing it into the bottom of the shock body. The green slime keeps a great seal between the O-ring and the shock shaft, and also protects the O-ring from tearing upon re-installation of the shock shaft.

Note: Install the clear shock bladder into the shock caps prior to threading on the upper shock caps

Note: To ensure proper rebound, refilled the shock body with shock oil until about 2-3mm before completely to the top of the shock body. Slowly bring the shock shaft up and down a few times to bring the air bubble trapped underneath the piston up. Once all the bubble have rise to the top, bring the shock piston up just right before the lock-nut that holds the shock piston come through the oil. Now screw on the shock+bladder assembly. Some oil might come out during this process (which is ok) and your shock shaft should rebound out further as well. Once complete the assembly, double check the rebound stroke of your shock. The rebound stroke should be smooth and a slow rebound (if it shoots back out very fast, then repeat the process again as there’s either too much oil or air trapped inside)
